The Riverside County Transportation Commission announced the opening of the new lanes on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Extending 5.75 miles between Ethanac Road and Nuevo Road, the new northbound lane opened Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 4 a.m., and the new southbound lane opened Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 6:40 am. Last November, the first 6.75 miles of the 12.5 mile project opened on northbound and southbound I-215 from Scott Road in Menifee to Ethanac Road.
Motorists are reminded that while the reduced speed limit between Scott Road and McCall Boulevard in Menifee has been lifted, the 55 miles per hour zone remains in place north of McCall Boulevard to Nuevo Road in Perris. Please keep in mind that traffic fines increase in construction zones.

Scott Road (Menifee) to Nuevo Road (Perris)
RCTC began construction in early 2013 to widen 12.5 miles of Interstate 215 between Scott Road in Menifee and Nuevo Road in Perris. One lane was added in each direction to this section of I-215.
A 6.75 mile section between Scott Road and Ethanac Road opened ahead of schedule in November 2014.
There is three continuous northbound lanes and three continuous southbound lanes on I-215 between I-15 and State Route 60.

On March 28, 2015, crews reopened the Perris Boulevard bridge over Interstate 215. Motorists are reminded that although the bridge is open, final work is continuing and lane reductions may be required.
On April 3, 2015, the new northbound D Street overpass and on-ramp opened to motorists. Drivers are reminded that crews are continuning with activities that may require short-term closures.
